If one's job provides what one needs -- income, challenge, some healthy social interaction, and at least a bit of satisfaction -- it seems to me that qualifies as, if not passion, at least happiness.

As Honest Abe said, you're about as happy as you make up your mind to be.Jeffrey Williushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02748080134354732541noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6508287140975351636.post-43846974427754585082012-06-13T11:17:35.235-04:002012-06-13T11:17:35.235-04:00I feel much the same about my job as what you desc...I feel much the same about my job as what you describe. I think it's good to have passion in life, and pursue what you are passionate about, but I don't think that necessarily has to come from the workplace.Nectarinehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16957078633582883380noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6508287140975351636.post-10250030128077666672012-06-13T07:33:11.239-04:002012-06-13T07:33:11.239-04:00What's interesting about my employment arch is...What's interesting about my employment arch is that I love the jobs that biologically make sense-building shelter, farming, cooking and rangering? Wandering through the landscape.

I can tell you I love my new job now, which is to farm and study Zen. I can tell you that teaching in the public school system almost killed me.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6508287140975351636.post-45891736815891954702012-06-11T07:36:50.512-04:002012-06-11T07:36:50.512-04:00Thanks for your openness on this topic. I simply recognize that I like the work I do; I also enjoy the work that I must do to maintain the work on a level that's effective. I actually enjoy the journey the makes the job and the rest of my life meaningful. Now passion seems to come and go. I have learned from others the need to keep defining self as I come up against new challenges.DJ Seiferthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17586397023448004425noreply@blogger.com
